If you have your heart set on products from Container Store, now is the time to get them. The whole store is on sale when you use the 25% off coupon online, by phone or in person.
While I caution everyone that buying organizing products is not going to make you organized, it is a great opportunity to buy the well-designed products they sell that you might not find elsewhere. I treated myself to the TrashRac, which mounts inside a kitchen cabinet door. I haven't seen it locally and the extra 25% off made it irresistible. I also bought the Expand-A-Shelf, which I have seen in other stores, but not at this price.
The store recently added a new service: Click & Pickup. You can order by phone or online, pay for the merchandise and pick it up at your local store, saving on the shipping charges. This is a great idea if you live near a store and don't want to get seduced into buying more stuff when you walk in.
If you want to take advantage of the 25% discount (30% on elfa shelf components), remember that it expires April 13.

Organize Your Home Office Day
The second Tuesday in March is Organize Your Home Office Day. This year, it's March 10th.
The greatest challenge that most people have in home office organizing is what to do with all the paper that piles up there. The truth is that you probably don't need most of the paper that you end up keeping because you think you should.
Important papers are ones that have an impact on your taxes or finances. You don't need to keep old receipts from the grocery store or restaurant meals unless they qualify as tax deductions. The same goes for checks to the dry cleaner or electric company. If you have questions about which papers you truly need to keep, contact your accountant or financial advisor.
Keep one file folder or box for tax-related information so that you can access it when you're ready to file.
Keep warranties and product information in one folder, binder or box. Go through it once a year and toss the manuals for things you don't own anymore.
Have one folder or box for memorabilia and purge it if it gets too big, keeping only the items you really love.
You can buy all the great organizing products you like, but in the end, it's all about having information you need, where you need it, when you need it. Take small steps to get your home office where you want it to be. What can you do now to start?
