I was at the grocery
store today and heard Christmas music overhead. I shouldn’t be surprised; after
all, Halloween is already three days behind us. Every year “Christmas Creep” seems to get
earlier and earlier. Before you know it, we’ll be celebrating back-to-school
sales with Santa.
What do you think?
Should retailers hold back on the holiday madness until it’s closer to the
actual holiday? Or do you enjoy hearing carols and seeing decorations for two months?

Christmas items had taken over the aisles here a week before Halloween. I'm starting to hate ALL holidays because of the intense marketing and consumerism.
ReplyDeleteThat is early. I wholeheartedly agree with you about the consumerism.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just the shameless marketing that begins way too soon, it's the gullibility of the people who buy into the commercialism, e.g., the ones who stampede at Walmart on Black Friday. Those are the things that ruin the holiday season for me.
