I thought I had nothing more to say about dorm living, then I found out about http://www.designyourdorm.com/. There’s a lot to think about when you’re moving into your first dorm room. If you’ve never lived in a small space with another person, can you make it work? Will you get along? Will you have the same design sensibilities?

When you go to the Website, you can put in the name of your school and residence hall. The site says it has over 140 schools in its database. If your school isn’t one of them, you can still use the tool; you’ll just have to put in the dimensions of the room. You will be able to see a 3-D rendering of your space and you can decorate it virtually.

 In addition, you can purchase products(the site is affiliated with Amazon.com) and have them shipped directly to your dorm , which is handy for students who are going to school far from home.

While the site ostensibly is about communication between roommates, there is a lot of emphasis on buying stuff. Think about what you really need, and what really fits, before you make any purchases.
