Use Less Stuff Day

Robert Lilienfeld wrote a book, along with William Rathje, called  Use Less Stuff: Environmental Solutions for Who We Really Are.  He also created a  Web site  dedicated to educating people about the impact their actions have on the environment.

In 1994, Use Less Stuff Day was created to look beyond recycling and bring attention to the reduce/reuse parts of the reduce/reuse/recycle trio. The Thursday preceding Thanksgiving, which is November 15 this year, is a good day to plan a less-stuff holiday.

I spoke with Bob, who said that activities continue around the country, although he hasn’t been concentrating on updating the Web site. You can send him a  tweet and let him know that you are interested in participating in an event next year.

What can you do this year to reduce the amount of stuff you use during the holidays? Click on Post a Comment, below, and tell us.
