Or, as I like to say, you need to work at decluttering every day – just like you need to brush your teeth, clean your face, wash dishes, etc. Don’t count on “motivation” to keep you going.
Sometimes, you do stuff because it just has to get done. When you develop habits, you take the stress out of having to remember to do things and make the actions automatic instead.
